ABOUT
I started to compete in martial arts in Spain until I got severely injured on 23rd June 2020, spending about two months laying down at the hospital and several more to recover. My wife brought me a paper and a pen. This is when I started to draw again.
I embarked in this journey in dark hours, drugged most of the day to ease the pain. Drawing became my ideal escape. I explored shapes, tones and progressively added some colours. Free from any academic background, I have been defining my processes through exploration and an undeniable liberty. I find my inspiration in the paintings of the many artists I came across, trying to express some of the emotion triggered by a face, the beauty of a moment or a shape. My ultimate objective is to engage with the sensitivity of the spectator and provoke some reaction.
With a job I love and to which I dedicate many hours, lots of travels and three little kids, I can not dedicate more than a night a week to drawing. I usually start when the kids sleep, conversing with my wife around a glass of wine and some music in the background… I usually finish when my eyes drop and my mind escapes in a perfect state of peacefulness.
